Chinese Tomato Soup

Making Soups at home is very easy now a days. Homemade soups are good for health. I usually try different veg soups at home. This time I tried out Chinese tomato soup. Waw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was really good.

  1. 5 to 6 tomatoes
  2. 1 potatoes cut in to 4 pieces
  3. 1 Small cup shredded cabbage
  4. 1 small cup spring onion finely chopped
  5.  4 to 5 beans finely chopped
  6. 1 small carrot finely  chopped
  7. 2 to 3 garlic cloves finely chopped
  8. 1 inch ginger grated
  9. 2 tbsp. butter
  10. 2 tbsp. red chilli powder
  11. 1/4 tbsp. pepper powder
  12. 1 tbsp. soya sauce
  13. salt as per taste
  14. 1 tbsp. sugar


  • Take  tomatoes and potato in pressure cooker and boil  it for 5 to 6 whistle. Drain all the water and allow it to cool. Peel the skin of tomatoes  and potato. Grind it in a mixer and keep aside.
  • Now take a container on heater add butter to it. Once the butter starts melting add the vegetables like cabbage, carrot and beans, garlic, ginger and fry it. Add 1 cup of water and allow it to cook with closed lid.
  • As the vegetables are boiled add the tomato  puree to it.
  • Now add salt, sugar, red chilli powder, pepper powder, soya sauce and spring onion
  • Boil it for few mins till it mixes well with all spices
  • Serve hot with butter on it.



Chinese Manchow soup

Manchow  soup is a famous soup from Chinese cuisine. It is a spicy and tangy soup with lot of vegetables. Noodles added to it makes it different from other soups.

Chinese Manchow soupIngredients:

  1. 1 Small carrot finely chopped
  2. 1 Small cup beans finely chopped ( 4 to 5 beans)
  3. 1 Small cup capsicum finely chopped
  4. 1 Small cup mushroom  cleaned and finely chopped ( 3 to 4)
  5. 1 Small cup shredded cabbage
  6. 2 to3 garlic cut in to small pieces
  7. 1 inch ginger grated
  8. 3 to 4 tbsp. soya sauce
  9. 2 tbsp.  chilli sauce
  10. 2 tbsp. corn flour
  11. 1 tbsp. butter
  12. Salt as per taste
  13. 1/2 cup noodles ( spaghetti 4 to 5 sticks)
  14. 1/4 tbsp. pepper powder



Take butter in a container and keep it on heater on low flame and once the butter starts melting add all the vegetables to it and fry it for 2 mins. Now add water to it ( 2 to 3 cups) and spaghetti  and close the lid till the vegetables are boiled. Add chilli sauce and soya sauce, pepper powder and salt to it. Mix corn flour in water and add to it . Keep on boiling till the soup thickens. Serve hot.

Beetroot Soup

It was raining heavily outside and I was very much tempted to drink something hot other than tea/coffee. 

So I tried the soup called beetroot soup. It is a healthy, fabulous in  color and tasty too.

  1. 1 Big beetroot peeled and cut in to pieces
  2. 1 Medium size potato peeled and cut in to pieces
  3. 1 Tbsp pepper  powder
  4. Salt as per taste
  5. 2 Tbsp butter


Pressure cook the beetroot and potato with 3 to 4 whistle. Drain the water and keep aside and use it as much required.

Now grind these in a mixer in to paste.

Take a container on heater add butter, once the butter starts melting add the grinded paste and the water used during boiling beetroot. Now add salt and pepper powder and keep boiling for 5 mins. Serve hot













Rajma Dal

Today I tried out Rajma Dal which was very tasty. As we all know that  Consumption of kidney beans gives you a healthy heart. They are also rich in iron , protein and fibre. So eat healthy and be healthy. Try rajma dal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. 1 Cup Toor dal
  2. 1 Cup rajma
  3. 1 Medium size onion finely chopped
  4. 3 to 4 green chillies finely chopped
  5. 2 to 3 garlic cloves finely chopped
  6. 1 medium size tomato finely chopped
  7. 1 Inch ginger finely chopped
  8. A pinch of hing and amchur powder
  9. 1/2 Tbsp turmeric powder and mustard seeds
  10. Fresh curry leaves and coriander leaves chopped
  11. 2 Tbsp oil
  12. Salt as per taste
  13. A very small piece of jaggery (optional)


Soak rajma over night in water. Drain the water and cook it along with toor dal in a pressure cooker with 3 whistles.

Take a container on heater. Add oil and once the oil is hot add mustard seeds. Allow it to crackle. Now add garlic and ginger and fry till golden brown. Add turmeric powder, hing and curry leaves and fry it. Add green chillies and onion and fry till onion turns golden brown. Add tomatoes and cook till they are soft. Now add the cooked dal and rajma to it. Add bit of water. Add salt and jaggery and amchur powder. Cook till the dal thickens. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves. Serve it with Rice or chapati.

Menasina Saaru (Pepper Rasam)

The menasina saaru is from Karnataka Cuisine. It is spicy and tasty. It is good to drink when it hot. Also act as good medicine for cold and sore throat.

  1. 2 Tomatoes finely chopped
  2. 1 Tbsp of pepper powder
  3. Curry leaves a cup
  4. 1 Tbsp fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  5. 2 to 3 garlic cloves finely chopped
  6. 1 Inch ginger finely chopped
  7. Salt as per taste
  8. Oil 2 tbsp
  9. Jaggery a small piece
  10. Mustard seeds 1/2 Tbsp
  11. 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  12. A pinch of hing


Grind the tomato and pepper in a grinder and keep aside. Now take a container on heater. Add oil once hot add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Add garlic and ginger and fry it. Add curry leaves, turmeric powder, hing and fry it. Now pour the tomato and pepper paste to it. Also add bit water . Add salt, jaggery. Allow it to boil. Add fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot.


Carrot Soup

Carrots can be used to make lot of dishes. We all know that carrots are really good for our health. It has lot of health benefits.We make carrot raita, carrot halwa, and it is also used with other vegetables to make curry. It is also used in salads. Here is one more recipe of carrot . Ya carrot soup.

Preparation Time: 5 mins

Cooking time : 20 mins


2 Big carrots Peel off the skin and cut into thin pieces.

1 Medium size potato peel off the skin and cut in to small pieces.

Salt as per taste

Pepper powder 1 Tbsp

Butter 1 tbsp


First we have to boil the carrot and potato together in the water till they are soft. Then drain all the water and allow it to cool. With the help of the blender grind it well. Now take a container on heater add butter to it.  Once the butter starts melting add the grinded  carrot to the container. Also add the salt and pepper powder to it.  Boil it for some time. Serve hot. The potato is added to the carrot soup to make the soup thick and also adds taste to it.


Veg Baby Corn Soup

Baby Corn is very rich in protein. The baby corn with other vegetables along with it makes a healthy soup. It is a Chinese soup. Kids usually likes such soups. Go for it.

Preparation Time: 10 mins

Cooking Time: 15 mins

Servings 3 bowls


  1. 4 baby corn finely chopped
  2. 1 Small Carrot finely chopped
  3. 4 Beans finely chopped
  4. 1 Small cup cabbage shredded
  5. 4 Tbsp corn flour
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. 1 Tbsp pepper powder
  8. 1 Tbsp butter
  9. Soya sauce during serving


  • Take a container on a heater add butter once the butter melts add all the vegetables fry it.
  • Add a bit of water and boil till all the vegetables are cooked.
  • Now add 3 cups of water, pepper powder, salt boil it.
  • Now mix corn flour in water and make a paste and mix it in soup.
  • Allow it to boil till it is thick.
  • Serve hot with soya sauce

Majjige Huli

Majjige Huli is the dish prepared in south India especially Karnataka. It is the dish prepared using buttermilk. It is prepared in different ways. Some prepare it with gram flour and some prepare it plain but I prepared it by using chana dal. Vegetables like cucumber, snake gourd, green pumpkin adds taste to it. We can go for any one of these vegetable and in my recipe  Majjige Huli is prepared using Bangalore cucumber. 

Preparation Time:  5 mins

Cooking Time: 20 mins


  1. 2 Cups Buttermilk
  2. 4 to 5 Tbsp chana dal soaked in water for an hour
  3. 1 Small cup grated coconut
  4. 1 Tbsp jeera
  5. 2 Green chillies cut into pieces
  6. 2 Tbsp Fresh coriander leaves
  7. 1 Tbsp hing
  8. 1 Tbsp turmeric powder
  9. 1 Tbsp mustard seeds
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. 1 Cucumber with the skin peeled off and cut into thick pieces
  12. 2 Tbsp oil
  13. 1 Tbsp Ginger


  • Grind the soaked chana dal, grated coconut, ginger, green chillies, jeera, coriander leaves together in the mixer in to paste and keep aside
  • Take a container on heater add oil ,once hot add mustard seeds allow it to crackle, add turmeric powder, hing and then cucumber to it.
  • Allow cucumber to cook in few drops of water then add the grinded paste to it.
  • Cook it for 5 mins but do check it should not roast. Add water if needed (little bit).
  • Once the masala and cucumber is cooked well add buttermilk and boil it for few mins.
  • Once done switch off the heater then add salt at last and stir it.
  • Serve with plain rice.


Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkins are very versatile in their uses for cooking. Lot of dishes can be made with the pumpkin.

I just tried one of them which was very new to me . It tastes good. Yes it’s the soup!!!

Preparation Time: 10 mins

Cooking Time:  30  mins

Servings 3 bowls

Ingredients :

  1. 1 Cup pumpkin slices ( pumpkin should be cut, skin should be taken off and de seeded)
  2. 2 small onions sliced
  3. 1 cinnamon stick
  4. 1 Tbsp pepper powder
  5. 1 Tbsp fresh cream
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. 1 Tbsp butter
  8. 2 Tbsp olive oil
  9. 1/2  Cup vegetable stock


  • Take a pan on heater add olive oil and once hot add sliced onion and fry till golden brown. Allow it to cool.
  • By the same time  boil the sliced pumpkin with the cinnamon stick in water till they are soft.
  • Once the onion and pumpkin are cooled grind into paste in a blender with water added. ( Use the same water used for boiling)
  • Now take a container on heater add butter once the butter starts melting add the paste, salt, vegetable stock and pepper powder and boil it till the soup thickens.
  • Add fresh cream over it and serve hot. ( we get good colour if the pumpkin is more orange in colour)

Palak Soup

Preparation time: 5 mins

Cooking time: 15 mins

Serves 2 people


  1. 1 Small Bunch of palak (spinach)
  2. 1 potato
  3. 1 Tbsp pepper powder
  4. 1/4 cup milk
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. 1 Tbsp Butter


  • Wash the spinach (palak) in the cold water
  • Boil  potato and spinach
  • Once the potato and spinach are boiled take it off from heater drain all  the water and allow it to cool
  • Now blend the potato and spinach in a blender with salt and pepper powder in it
  • Take a container on heater add butter to it
  • Once the butter starts melting add the spinach and potato mix to it
  • Now add milk to it and boil it
  • Serve hot

Broccoli Soup

Preparation Time: 5 Mins

Cooking Time : 15 mins

Servings 2 people


  1. Broccoli florets  1 Cup
  2. Potato 1 small
  3. Pepper powder 1/2 tbsp
  4. Butter 1 tbsp
  5. Cream 2 Tbsp
  6. Salt as per taste


  • Boil the broccoli and potato till they are done
  • Allow it to cool and then blend it in a blender with the water remained during boiling
  • Take a container on heater add butter
  • As the butter melts add the broccoli and potato paste to it
  • Add salt and pepper and bring it to boil
  • Serve hot with cream on it

Vegetable Sweet Corn Soup


1. Sweet corn kernels a small bowl

2. Carrot cut into small pieces (1 small )

3. Beans chopped finely ( 4 to 5)

4. Shredded cabbage

5 Corn flour 2  tbsp

6 Spring onion

7 Butter 1 tbsp

8 Water 2 bowl


Take a butter in a container and place it on a heater

Add all vegetables and stir it for 2 mins

Add water to it and boil all vegetables

Once they are done add salt

Take corn flour add water to it and mix well

Pour  this in the soup and cook it for 5 mins

Serve hot along with soya sauce and tomato sauce

Hot And Sour Soup


1.Carrot  cut into small pieces.

2. Cabbage shredded

3. Beans finely chopped

4.Mushroom cut into small pieces

5. Chilli sauce 1 tbsp

6. Soya sauce 3 to 4 tbsp

7 Capsicum  few finely chopped

8 Corn flour 2 tbsp

9 Ginger grated

10 Water 2 cups


Boil  all the vegetable in water  and keep the vegetable stock in it

Once they are done add salt and keep boiling it

Now add soya  sauce n chilli sauce

To thicken the soup add corn flour

Serve hot

Tomato Soup

1 Tomato  3 medium size

2 Potato 1 small

3.  Carrot 1

4  Black pepper few

5.Butter 1 tbsp


Boil the tomato, potato and carrot till all  are cooked

Drain the water and keep it aside

Blend these in the blender along with pepper

Take a container add butter to it

Add the blended liquid to the container once the butter is melted

Add salt and boil it for few mins till it is thickened.

Serve hot along with butter on it
