Palak Rice

Palak Rice

Preparation time: 10 mins

Cooking time: 15 mins

Servings 2 people


  1. 1 Cup Basamti Rice
  2. 1 Cup spinach (palak ) finely chopped
  3. 1 Onion finely chopped
  4. 2 Green chillies cut in to big pieces
  5. 1 Small capsicum finely chopped
  6. Fresh peas a small cup
  7. Salt as per taste and 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  8. 2 Tbsp Oil


  • Cook the rice and keep aside
  • Now take a pan on a heater add oil
  • Once it is hot add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle
  • Add onion and fry till golden brown
  • Add capsicum and peas fry it till they are cooked
  • Add spinach (palak) and fry it for 2 mins
  • Add salt and take it off from heater and mix the cooked rice to it
  • Serve hot
